To my friends at Brick City Church,
Brick City Church,
The amount of love and support we received from you in the wake of Davy’s premature birth in October was astounding. We are still in awe of how you stepped up and became Christ to us in a time of need. We will never forget it and are thankful for you.
Ashley and I would like to clarify the sudden announcement last week that I will not be the Pastor of Mobilization at Brick City Church anymore. It seems that some believe that I resigned from this position. This is not the case. I was let go.
I wasn’t planning to write a post like this. I was going to leave the explanation to the leadership of the church. However, when a pastor is vaguely let go, many people come to the conclusion that is was because of a moral failure. This is not what happened. There simply wasn’t enough room for my position in the new mission, vision, and leadership structure of the church.
I want to be careful here because Ashley and I deeply love Brick City Church. We want to see it grow and thrive and become a source of reconciliation in our community. Because of this deep love for our church, this has been a very painful week for us. We were not expecting this and need time to process and heal. We will be taking a break from attending BCC. Although we will not be there with you, I am very excited to see what transpires with the mid-town project and the potential impact it will have on our city.
Go in peace and may the Lord bless you real good,
Josh and Ashley
